This Baby

elvie sits up

This baby sits up now, on her own, with only slight modifications to the surface on which she sits. I wasn't sure if that would be possible, given the differences in her anatomy. But there she is, and she is proud of herself. She is trying to move, and I now think she might be successful, even before surgery. It's time to think about babyproofing the house.

  1. what is the name of her birth defect?

    1. We are sharing her diagnosis on a need-to-know basis only, so we are speaking only in generalities publicly, and thus are not revealing her diagnosis on the blog. Those who will interact with her before her surgery are informed, but otherwise we respect that information as part of her story, which she may or may not choose to share once she is able.

  2. you are a great mom congratz on the beauty :)

  3. Congratulations to Elvie on this milestone, and to her parents and sister for getting her there!!

  4. It always amazes me what children will do when it seems it is impossible for them to do something. They don't know they can't, so they go right ahead and DO.

  5. The tongue cracks me up! So glad she's so freaking healthy! Enjoy the sunshine!
