Addis Ababa, October 2010. What a beauty, then and now, inside and out. She had her first ballet performance yesterday, and my heart swelled with pride, and I almost cried, right in the middle of the part that I normally find to be the most hilarious. Two and a half years with this girl, and she still finds ways to surprise me with her courage and her determination, with her joy and her zest for life. She is a treasure.
